Universitas Sriwijaya (Unsri) was appointed as the host of Technical Pre-departure Briefing for Awardess of Indonesian International Student Mobility Award (IISMA) 2021 to universities in Taiwan. The briefing was conducted on Zoom Meeting on February 10, 2022.
The briefing was devided into three session. The first session was opening speechs by Rector of Unsri, Prof. Dr. Ir. Anis Saggaff, MSCE., IPU.; the Acting Director of Learning and Student Affairs of Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Ir. Kiki Yuliati, M.Sc.; and th Deputy Chairman of Project Management Office of Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka, Junaidi, S.S., M.A. The second session was the pre-departure briefing by the head of Department of Citizen Protection, Social, Culture and Information of the Indonesia Economic and Trade Office to Taipei, Fajar Nuradi who delivered information about the travel advice, preparation to study and introduction of Taiwan local culture. The third and the last session was the question and answer session that was led by Unsri's lecturer, Dr. Muhammad Ichsan Hajdri, S.T., M.T..
To purpose of the briefing was to give an outlook about the education, culture and current situation in Taiwan as well as to bid farewell to the awardees scheduled departuring to Taiwan on February 16 2022 for IISMA awardees in National Taiwan University, February 18 2022 for awardees in National Taiwan University of Science and Technology and February 20 2022 for awardees in National Taiwan Normal University. There are 37 awardees from 19 home universities in Indonesia and 3 host universities in Taiwan particapating on this IISMA 2021 to Taiwan.
For the information, IISMA is part of Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka, a flagship program of KEMDIKBUD RISTEK. The main goal of IISMA is to initiate the international cooperation between the home and host university through giving the students opportunity to study for one semester in the top world universities.
