The Faculty of Public Health (FKM) is the 10th and last faculty at Universitas Sriwijaya. The idea for the establishment of this faculty arises because of an appeal from the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia and Medical Science Consortium that the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Sriwijaya should participate in preparing human resources in the fields of medicine and health in facing the era of globalization. In August 18, 2000, the Public Health Study Program (S1) of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sriwijaya (PSKM FK Unsri) was officially opened. Then the Public Health Study Program of the Faculty of Medicine (PSKM FK) Unsri was proposed to be the Faculty of Public Health (FKM) Unsri. By becoming a faculty, the implementation of academic activities, cooperation, both at home and abroad can be well-organized and ensured. In 2008 the status of Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Medicine (PSKM FK) Universitas Sriwijaya was changed to Faculty of Public Health (FKM) Universitas Sriwijaya. Now, FKM has four programs, there are: 1. Public Health (Bachelor) 2. Nutrition (Bachelor) 3. Environmental Health (Bachelor) 4.
